Pregnancy and hair loss
Hair loss after childbirth: a natural phenomenon
During pregnancy, it is common to notice that hair becomes thicker, shinier, and sometimes less oily. This change is explained by the influence of hormones on the hair cycle and sebum production.
Towards the end of pregnancy, the fetus also begins to build its own hair system, using certain essential nutrients such as amino acids from the mother. After delivery, the hormonal drop often results in significant hair loss, usually between 3 and 6 months after birth.
This phenomenon, while often impressive, is completely normal. Regrowth is possible, but it may require targeted support. Taking care of the scalp during this time is essential to promote healthy regrowth and prevent hair from becoming fragile.
